The College Sport Auckland Duathlon Championships were held at Pukekohe Park on Wednesday 9 June. The event saw over 200 athletes competing from 22 schools. The event was held in wet overcast conditions where competitors ran and cycled in their respective grade distances as individuals or as part of a team. Our first Weightlifting Championships was held last weekend on Saturday 22nd May hosted at Functional Strength Olympic and organised by Weightlifting New Zealand . Baradene College squared the ledger against Epsom Girls, winning the Premier Girls T20 title also on Wednesday. Pinehurst School took out the College Sport Auckland Premier Golf competition after defeating Macleans College in the final last Monday at Pakuranga Golf Club. On paper, the Pinehurst team were not expected to win. Macleans College are former national champions and their current team fields some of New Zealand’s best players.
