The College Sport Auckland Volleyball Championships were held at the Bruce Pulman Arena in Takanini on the 15 -17 March Congratulations to winners Rangitoto College in the boys division and Orewa College in the girls division. This is largest event College Sport Auckland undertakes featuring 108 teams and 60 schools in both the boy’s and girl’s sections. Double Volleyball Gold for Rangitoto College
The Junior Volleyball Champs were held over three days at Bruce Pulman Arena involving eighty four teams from forty six schools. Rangitoto College took out both the boys and girls titles, the boys defeating Manurewa and the girls defeating Mangere College in their respective finals. The Volleyball Auckland Champs were held at Bruce Pulman Park, Takanini over 3 days last week under strict guidelines to keep within the Government’s limits at indoor venues. We had 47 schools; 40 Girls team and 38 Boys teams from all over Auckland. Congratulations to Rangitoto College Girls taking the trophy for the 2nd year in a row. The Rangitoto College Premier Boys Volleyball team won the New Zealand Secondary School Championships for the first time in their history during Summer Tournament Week in Palmerston North. Stuff: Westlake Girls’ High School are the national secondary school girls volleyball champions after winning the national tournament at the Arena in Palmerston North last week. Westlake beat Otumoetai College, of Tauranga, 3-1 in the girls’ final on Friday afternoon. The two sides were level 1-all after the first two sets, but Westlake won the next two to seal the win.
