On Sunday, March 24th, the shores of Lake Pupuke in Takapuna were alive with the energy and excitement of the Dragon Boat Championships for 2024. This year’s event brought together six schools from across Auckland, showcasing their spirit of teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. The waters around Royal Akarana Yacht Club (RAYC) in Orakei were alive with the exhilarating sights and sounds of competitive yachting from Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd March. The prestigious Auckland Cup, open to teams from both North and South of the bridge within the Auckland region, drew in 16 schools and 21 teams (over 130 athletes!) for three days of full-on races. On Friday 15th April, we hosted the Softball Senior ODT at Rosedale Park. The event saw 12 boys teams and 8 girls teams in action. Westlake Boys High School claimed victory in the boys’ league, with Pukekohe High School securing silver. In the girls’ competition, One Tree Hill College emerged as the champions, with Rosehill College finishing as the runners-up.
