Badminton Clash of the Smash

The annual Counties Manukau Badminton Clash of the Smash Tournament was held recently with several local schools competing at the Ray Phillips Badminton Centre in Papakura.   In the Boys Division, Strathallan A Boys placed first with Rosehill A Boys second and Alfriston A Boys in third place.  In the Girls Division, Rosehill A Girls were first with Alfriston A Girls second and Ormiston Junior A Girls in third place.   Special thanks to Donna and her team at Counties Manukau Badminton Association for organising.

Badminton Championships 2022

Badminton Doubles and Singles Champions Decided. Over one hundred students from seventeen schools competed in the recent College Sport Auckland Badminton Championships held at the Auckland Badminton Centre. Jack Ngametua from Auckland Badminton managed the one-day tournament that had eight grades available: Junior Boys and Girls Singles and Doubles and Senior Boys and Girls Singles and Doubles. ACG Parnell Badminton star wins two national titles

ACG Parnell College student, Daniel Hu, has enjoyed a very successful year of badminton. Daniel won the Junior Boys Singles competition at the College Sport Auckland Badminton Championships in August, and earlier this month he took top honours at New Zealand Badminton YONEX National Championships, winning both the singles and doubles titles in the Boys Under 15 division. Nine teams competed in the Counties Manukau Badminton Clash of the Smash held at the Ray Phillips Badminton Centre in Papakura yesterday. In the Boys competition, Rosehill College finished in first place with Manurewa High School as runners-up and Papatoetoe High School in third place. The first ever New Zealand Secondary School Junior Badminton Championships were held late-November in Auckland.
