Junior Softball

Seventeen teams attended the Junior Softball One Day Tournament at Rosedale Park, Albany recently. Water Polo Finals

Sacred Heart College defeated Westlake Boys High School 9-2 in the Premier Boys gold medal match with St Cuthbert’s defeating Diocesan 8-6 in the Premier Girls final.  Baradene College and Auckland Grammar claimed the bronze medals in their respective Premier matches. The Senior A Girls Grade was won by Diocesan with St Mary’s claiming the silver and St Cuthbert’s the bronze.  In the Senior A Boys Sacred Heart won the gold, Kristin the silver and Mt Albert Grammar the bronze.

Takapuna Grammar and Kings Win T20 Cricket Titles

For the first time both the Girls and Boys T20 finals were held at Melville Park on the same day. Lawn Bowls Pairs Championships

Fifty-two teams from eleven schools entered the Auckland Cup Secondary School Pairs held at the Mt Eden Bowing Club. The event was organised by Auckland Bowls where lunch was provided in a friendly and fun environment for participants.  Three greens were in use throughout the day with teams playing five, forty-minute rounds. The competition was won by the pairing from Kings College with Kelston Boys High School claiming second. Triple the Fun

Eleven junior teams competed in the inaugural Have-A-Go Triples Bowls Competition held at the Takapuna Bowing Club. The event was organised by staff and volunteers at the Takapuna Bowling Club where they provided coaching, competition and lunch in a fun environment. Students competed over three rounds during the day with Glenfield College claiming first place from Auckland Girls Grammar in second and Rangitoto College third. A special mention to Rangitoto College who had nine teams competing at the event.

Football Knockout Cup Finals

Sacred Heart’s 1st XI added the Senior Grade Knockout Cup trophy to their CSA Premier title after defeating a valiant Macleans College 1st XI in the Knockout Cup final at Bill McKinlay Park last Friday. The final was played at a tremendous pace, with the deciding goal being a penalty within the closing moments of the contest. Underwater Hockey Season Concludes

The College Sport Auckland Underwater Hockey season concluded with the annual prizegiving held at Glenfield College. The 2022 season saw twenty-six teams from seven schools compete across four grades from Junior Girls to Senior Open.  The weekly competitions were held at four pool venues: Westwave Aquatic Centre, Glen Innes, MT Albert Grammar and Manurewa Aquatic Centre. The weather held off for the Girls APC Football finals at Ellerslie Football Club, Michaels Ave on Wednesday 17 August. The games were tightly contested with all 3 games ending in 1 nil. The finals were last played prior to Covid in 2019. 2022 winners were Baradene College with a win over Saint Kentigern College in the Division 1 competition. Badminton Doubles and Singles Champions Decided. Over one hundred students from seventeen schools competed in the recent College Sport Auckland Badminton Championships held at the Auckland Badminton Centre. Distance Running Series Concludes with Road Race! The College Sport Distance Running series concluded with the Road Race Championships at Bruce Pulman Park, Takanini on Tuesday 16th August.
