Baradene claim national team time trial honours

Cycling New Zealand: Baradene College took out the major girls honours in the team time trial on the opening day of the Cycling New Zealand School Road Championships in Manawatu. Baradene College won two of the three team time trial titles in the under-16 and under-20 grades and were third in the year 7-8 to complete an outstanding start to the championships. The 50th National School Road Cycling Championships were held last weekend in Manawatu. Almost 700 cyclists from 83 schools competed in the three-day event which included a team time trial, road race and points race. The Sir Bernard Fergusson trophy for the U20 Boys Team Time Trial was hotly contested this year, with five teams finishing within 30 seconds of each other. Young cyclists selected for Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Performance Hub

Fourteen teenage cyclists have been named to be part of the Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Performance Hub programme.
