Olivia McTaggart breaks second Eliza McCartney record in 13 months

NZSSSC:

Teenage pole vaulter Olivia McTaggart has wiped Eliza McCartney from the record books for the second time in a little more than a year.

The 17-year-old Kristin School student, who last year matched the Olympic bronze medallist’s national secondary schools record (4.10m), shattered it by 20cm at the Hawkes Bay Regional Sports Park on Saturday.

McTaggart won gold in her final national secondary schools championship, 13 months after blitzing McCartney’s national under-17 record.
