Archery Matchplay Championship

One hundred and six students took part in the Archery Match Play Championships held at the Auckland Archery Club on 2nd April. This event concluded school archery for term 1. The medal matches were fantastic with some high-level shooting with several archers now heading to Australia to represent NZ in the Trans-Tasman Archery Competition. Dragon Boating, Orienteering and Rock Climbing Events

Tennis Championships Decided

It was a busy week for secondary school tennis players with the Champ of Champs Tournament and the A1 and A2 finals being played at the Scarbro Tennis Centre. One hundred and twenty individuals and fifty-three doubles teams took part in the Champ of Champs Tennis Tournament over two days with students competing in junior, intermediate, and senior doubles and singles matches.  The Senior Boys singles title was won by Chan Min from Rangitoto College and Renee Zhang from Kings College winning the Senior Girls title for the second year…

Wind Foiling makes its Debut at Fleet Racing Regatta

64 boats from 24 schools competed in the 71st Auckland Fleet Racing Regatta at the Wakatere Boating Club, Narrow Neck Beach on Friday 16 September. Conditions were icy cold, but superb for fast-paced racing, and the crews did not disappoint. Nine classes were represented, with Wind Foiling (IQ Foil) making its debut at the regatta. Aimee Bright, Whangaparoa College was the inaugural IQ Foil champion with Charlie Solly, Glendowie College and Stella Bilger, Baradene College of the Sacred Heart coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Premier Basketball Finals

Premier Girls teams were Westlake Girls & Mt Albert Grammar,  in the semifinals Westlake had a very convincing win against their opponents and Mt Albert Grammar had a close game with Baradene College, with Westlake Girls undefeated for the season this was going to be a tough match for Mt Albert Grammar, the game started slowly with both team relatively close in points after the 1st quarter, Westlake then settled into their game mode and kept the pressure on Mt Albert to take the match 87-54.  Congratulations Westlake Girls for…

Senior A Basketball Finals

Senior A Girls teams were Takapuna Grammar and Northcote College, both of these teams had convincing wins in their semi finals and this match up was looking like a good one to watch. At the end of the 3rd quarter Takapuna had the lead and they were able to maintain this lead until the end of the match.  Takapuna won 78-61. Open Girls teams were Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu & Takapuna Grammar, both teams had good wins in their respective semifinals, at the halfway point the scored was tied until Takapuna had a convincing 2nd halfway and taking the match by 46-24. U17 Girls teams were Otahuhu vs One Tree Hill College, both teams had exciting semifinals with Otahuhu winning their match by one point and One Tree Hill by 7 points against Elim Christian School.  The final was a great match up with One Tree Hill finally pulling ahead in the 4th quarter and winning by 6 points with the score 41-35. On Thursday 25th August the Basketball finals for all grades was hosted at the Eventfinda Stadium, North Harbour.  This is the first time since 2019 have been able to hold the College Sport Auckland Basketball Championship.
