BDSC claim NZSS Senior Baseball title

Botany Downs Secondary College have claimed the NZSS Senior Baseball title for the second year in a row. Their semi-final against Glendowie College ended in a nail-biting tie-breaker after a 9-9 draw, then they took on Auckland Grammar School in the final. A very close game, but BDSC managed to claim an 8-4 win to be named back-to-back Champions. Tuku Repia from BDSC also took a clean sweep of the individual awards to be named Best Pitcher, Best Batter, and overall MVP for the Tournament.

Diocesan School for Girls win back-to-back Maadi titles

AucklandNOW: Auckland’s Diocesan School for Girls has picked up back-to-back Maadi titles, becoming the first North Island female crew in 27 years to do so. Dio claimed the Levin 75th Jubilee Cup – awarded to the winners of the under-18 eight 2000 metre race – at Lake Karapiro on Saturday, securing the title by three quarters of a boat length. North Shore Times: A nail-biting finale to the secondary school premier boys cricket final has seen a new named added to the RH Marryatt Cup. Rosmini College defeated Saint Kentigern College by two wickets in the limited overs final at Eden Park on April 1. Winning the toss, Rosmini sent Saint Kents into bat. Hockey sticks do job for dragon boaters

NZ Herald: Using hockey sticks instead of paddles is not your conventional way to train for a dragon boating competition. But that was the case for the St Dominic’s College paddlers, who only had four sessions on the water before they raced towards the podium in the recent College Sport Auckland Dragon Boat Championships.
