Bob Mitchell | Service to Secondary School Sport YSPOTY Winner

Bob began coaching softball at One Tree Hill College in 1996 where he coached the boys’ team for several years before switching to the girls’ programme in 2007. In his first season, Bob coached the girls’ team to win the National Secondary School title. He’s been influential in providing his students a pathway to USA College softball and the NZ White Sox through his coaching and sports tours overseas. Bob also had a stint as Chairman of Auckland Softball Association and is still actively giving of his time to school and club softball. This year, he helped oversee the One Tree Hill College boys’ team at the National Secondary School tournament and was assistant coach to Eddie Kohlhase for the Marist Softball Club Premier Men.
