YSPOTY Awards 2024

What a wonderful night it was having our annual YSPOTY awards at Eden Park on Thursday 28th November🥳
 
Another wonderful year we had celebrating the top Auckland college athletes across 42 categories. We continue to see growth each and every year and look forward to seeing those who are finishing high school flourish out into the sporting world 🏆🌎
 
Congratulations to all the winners including our overall winners:
Joe Leith (Rangitoto College) – Yachting

Joe has had an exceptional year of yachting leading at the helm and collecting gold at both the College Sport Team and Fleet regatta. He collected gold in the 420 class at the New Zealand Open and Youth Championship. Along with this, a remarkable achievement of achieving bronze in the 420 Open World Championship held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in a near 80-boat fleet race. While also in Rio De Janeiro, he picked up Gold in the U17 World Championship. Joe has also shown his versatility by competing in other yachting classes by picking up bronze in the 470 Olympic Class at the New Zealand Championships. 

Eunseo Choi (Pinehurst School) – Golf

Eunseo had an incredible year of golfing by becoming the first female to be crowned the New Zealand Amateur and Strokeplay champion in the same year. This remarkable achievement solidifies her place as New Zealand’s leading female amateur golfer. Along with these titles she has also placed 3rd at the Australian Women’s Amateur Championship along with six top 10 finishes in other tournaments. She is currently ranked number 1 amateur golfer in New Zealand and has an amateur world ranking of 75. She has also been part of the New Zealand Golf academy since 2022. Eunseo has committed to Pepperdine University in California for the next four years where she will be pursuing golf on a full scholarship.
