Cricket Girls Div 2
In Summer Tournament Week we held our first edition of the Girls Cricket Div 2 Tournament.
The focus of this was to enable opportunities for teams that were not competing in the summer tournament week for the Venus Cup National Qualifier with a focus on participation!
This was held at Lloyd Elsmore and we had 5 schools involved: St Marys, Mt Roskill, Diocesan, Onehunga and Selwyn. It was a fantastic 3 days of cricket for a lot of girls that had not had the opportunity previously to play.
We thank Auckland Cricket for this support and look forward to continuing into 2025.
Term 1 Season Cricket
Term 1 was a stunning time to be playing Cricket with minimal rain and plenty action happening across many grades!
At the end of term 1 we saw Glendowie top of the girls Premier Competition and Howick winning the 1A for promotion into the premier competition for 2025. For the girls we had 33 teams across the 4 grades for term 1 which is fantastic to see continued growth in the female space. Placing for each grade can be found here
Moving towards the boys at the halfway point of the Premier Competition Westlake Boys are on top with 8 wins and 1 loss followed by Mt Albert and Auckland Grammar. In the 1A it is a tie for 1st with Sacred Heart and St Peters. Term 1 results across each grade can be found here and their final placings here
Across term 1, we had 150 boy teams involved across 15 different grades, it is great to see a high demand in the summer to play cricket and look forward to the second half of the Cricket season starting in term 4.
