Volleyballers put Aorere College on the map at nationals

Manukau Courier:

Aorere College and De La Salle College left their mark on the New Zealand secondary school volleyball championships in Palmerston North earlier this month.

Aorere, led by captain Mary Masoe, came fourth in the premier girls’ while De La Salle, led by Bernardo Tonumaipe’a, came fifth in premier boys.

It was a fitting season finale for the Aorere, who the week before, finished runners-up in the College Sport Auckland Championships at Pulman Park, Papakura.

“We are incredibly proud of the team’s achievement as we have been building and developing this team for a few years. They all shared a common goal and invested in the idea of being able to together achieve something great. They’re a driven group of players. They have a great work ethic, are passionate about their sport and believe in their abilities.”
