On the 2nd of March we held our annual Waka Ama Senior Regatta at Ian Shaw Park. This was the first time that the Senior Regatta moved to Ian Shaw Park. We had over 60 races and 120 teams compete, this meant for a busy day on the water. Athletics Counties Manukau
On the 29th of February we held the first of our Athletics Zone at Massey Park, Papakura. We had a great turn out of over 400 participants across 20+ schools. Thank you to all those invovled to help deliver such a wide scale event! We look forward to seeing those who qualified for Auckland Champs on the 26th of March at Mt Smart Stadium. On the 29th of November, we held our Junior Tag Champs at Cox Bay Reserve. We had 8 Boy’s and Girl’s teams participate. The Zone Days held earlier in the month determined what teams would make it through to the championship. In the Girls Final we had a very close game between Aorere and Westlake Girls where it ended up going to a drop off to find the winner and Aorere came out on top. On Wednesday 13th September, Eden Park and Counties Manukau Orienteering delivered the first ever urban adventure race through our National Stadium. Known as Orienteering Sprint Racing, students sped about the stadium using a map to navigate their path from checkpoint to checkpoint (called “controls”) around a predefined course.
