Lacey Lowdown: There was a full round of games in the College Sport Auckland Premier Basketball competition on Monday night. The feature game was Auckland Grammar School’s visit to Rangitoto College and it lived up to its billing with Grammar finishing strongly to win an entertaining encounter 82-71. Auckland brothers take different paths to reach same goal

AucklandNOW: Two brothers, playing different codes at different schools, are both heading down the same promising path. Star Toa, 16, and Lepa, 18, play rugby league and rugby union respectively and are both making waves in their chosen sports. Star, a student at St Paul’s College in Ponsonby, is a rising league prodigy, having signed with the NRL’s Newcastle Knights. Young sailor joins New Zealand yachting’s biggest names after national title win

AucklandNOW: Sacred Heart College student Sebastian Lardies is on course to be the country’s next America’s Cup helmsman. The 17-year-old was crowned New Zealand’s most recent national champion in yachtings 29er class earlier this month. However, winning the national title wasn’t what surprised Lardies most. A quick glance at the trophy showed the name of Team New Zealand  America’s Cup trimmer and cyclor and 2016 Olympic gold medallist Blair Tuke. Baradene College girls orienteering team finish third at World Championships

AucklandNOW: Baradene College’s girls orienteering team have returned from the World School Championships in Sicily with a third-place finish. The five-girl junior squad went to Italy late last month to compete alongside three other New Zealand teams in the week-long event. Mt Albert Grammar junior boys, Napier Girls senior girls, and Napier Boys senior boys also competed. Orienteering is a sport where competitors use maps to complete navigational challenges in unfamiliar areas.
