Sylvia was a member of the Mt Albert Grammar Premier Mixed Touch Rugby team who won the College Sport Auckland Premier Mixed Grade. In Athletics, she competed at the College Sport Auckland Champ of Champs and finished 2nd in the Senior Girls Shot Put. In Rugby, Sylvia was the captain of her school’s 1st XV girls’ team who won the College Sport Auckland Championship, was a member of the Auckland Storm in the Farah Palmer Cup and attended the Black Ferns rugby camp.
