The College Sport Rugby League finals were held at Fowld’s Park and Mt Smart Go Media Stadium on the 3rd of July.
The first game of the day was the U15 Boys, where St Paul’s College Blue becoming Champions 20-0 against Manurewa High School.
The second game of the day was our U16 Girls with Auckland Girls Grammar School who were crowned Champions against St Dominic’s College.
Boys Senior A’s match, Westlake Boys High School clinched the game in golden point against James Cook to win 20-16.
Premier Girls winner Southern Cross Campus took the win from Auckland Girls Grammar School 24-20 coming from behind and trailing 16–10 at halftime. The come from behind win highlighted the determination of the Southern Cross Campus side who followed their processes and shifted the ball edge to edge in an exciting display of footy.
The Premier Boys showdown was to be replay of last year’s final, but a reversal of the result. De La Salle College we’re victors after dotting down first in the match, winning the match 12-8 against St Paul’s College.
De La Salle has appeared in all three finals from 2022-2024 and this is the first time they’ve taken the title.
Congratulations to the schools for a massive effort across the College League season in Auckland for 2024.
