Dame Valerie Adams assisting discus thrower Connor Bell in quest for future Olympic glory

Newshub:

Paris and Los Angeles are now all but guaranteed to host the Olympic Games after 2020, all that’s left is for the IOC to announce which city gets to go first.

Wherever they’re held in 2024, one young Kiwi hoping to be there is teenage discus thrower Connor Bell.

Bell is in year 11 at Westlake Boys High School and is the number one discus thrower in the world for his age.

He won Australia’s under 18 men’s title earlier this year and is the current New Zealand under 18 and 20 champ.

The 16-year-old is out to win Gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas and as he prepares for the big event, he has been getting some assistance by three-time Olympic medallist Valerie Adams.
