Part-Time Gym Supervisor / Diocesan School for Girls

Diocesan School for Girls is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Gym Supervisor to oversee the effective operation of our school gym during Terms 1–4 of 2025. This role also involves supporting our Premier sports students by assisting with their Strength and Conditioning (S&C) programs, ensuring they perform at their best in their respective sports. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant school community, supporting students in their fitness goals while maintaining a safe and welcoming gym environment.

About the Role

Hours: 

  • 12-15 hours per week
  • Morning shifts: 6:45 am–8:00 am 
  • Afternoon shifts: 3:45 pm–4.45 pm

Duration:

  • Term 1: January 28 – April 11, 2025 (11 Weeks)
  • Term 2: April 28 – June 27 (9 Weeks)
  • Term 3: July 21 – September 19 
  • Term 4: October 6 – December 4

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct gym inductions for all members to ensure safe and appropriate equipment use.
  • Supervise and monitor gym users, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain gym equipment, including regular inspections and minor repairs.
  • Ensure the gym is clean and presentable, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Log gym usage and maintain records for reporting purposes.
  • Oversee and support Premier sports students with their Strength and Conditioning programs, collaborating with coaches to tailor sessions to their needs.
  • Assist with the running and delivery of S&C programs for individuals or small groups, ensuring alignment with athletic goals.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working in a gym or fitness environment.
  • Strong knowledge of gym equipment and its safe operation.
  • Fitness qualifications and experience delivering Strength and Conditioning programs or group fitness classes (highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and support young athletes.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and professional gym environment.
