We are looking for an events superstar!

Our ambition is to be the largest participation sport in New Zealand. Our mission is to inspire people and connect communities, and our vision is to be “the game for all”. Our Tournaments play an integral part in all of the above, and we are looking for the perfect person to do the mahi, and share the treats!

Our current Tournament Manager has taken up another opportunity within the organisation, which means we need to find another superstar to take up the challenge of managing our busy National (& International when run in New Zealand) Tournaments schedule. They’re pretty big shoes to fill, but it’s rewarding mahi!

 

The purpose of the role, while it may seem pretty self explanatory – actually covers a bit of ground; 

  • To provide quality delivery of Touch NZ tournaments
  • To provide quality service support to the Touch NZ membership
  • Develop and maintain a long term national tournament plan including identified venues and locations
  • To provide quality support for the tournament sector to the Game Development Panel
  • To manage the transfer and draft systems and tournament eligibility policies for Touch NZ’

 

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications, or relevant work/life experience, in relevant discipline
  • Excellent relationship management skills; effective in managing these internally, externally, and across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent attention to detail; excellent administration and record-keeping skills; high level of organizational skills; ability to plan and achieve objectives.
  • A practical understanding of evaluation methods and practices.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple and competing tasks and projects to meet deadlines and produce quality results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to relate to a wide range of people across a span of situations.
  • Competent working with electronic systems and tools.
  • High natural motivation and able to adapt skills in a wide variety of ways according to the situation.
  • Excellent data interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Full, clean drivers license, experience driving with a trailer.

 

Please note, there will be plenty of travel involved – you must be comfortable with regular trips away from home. 

 

This full time role reports to the Touch New Zealand Sport Operations Manager and will be based at our Mt Wellington office in Auckland.
