Flexible and experienced Swim School Supervisor required part time, 20 hrs/week including Saturday mornings, to support our Aquatic Centre.• Previous Swim Instructor experience is essential• Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and website maintenance• Flexible hours, including Saturday mornings in School Term time (7am to 1pm)• School Holidays (Monday to Friday only, hours flexible)Diocesan School for Girls is a high performing independent Anglican School with an outstanding reputation for excellence in all aspects of achievement. With state of the art educational and sporting facilities, the school provides a unique environment where girls can achieve excellence in a wide range of academic, cultural, sporting, and spiritual activities.Our world-class indoor Aquatic Centre has a purpose-built fitness centre, separate learner pool and 400-seat spectator gallery. A moveable floor in the main 25×20 metre pool can be lowered for deep water sports codes like water polo and raised for learn-to-swim classes.Swim Schools and other water-based activities occur throughout the year including weekends. This part-time role, therefore, requires flexibility in working hours and availability to work Saturday mornings.Contributing to the operation of the swim school, the Swim School Supervisor ensures the smooth running of the swim school for its customers.Responsibilities include:• Supervising the swim school and providing backup support to the Aquatic Centre and Turf Manager• Assessing and placing students into appropriate class levels• Providing support with training and induction of swimming instructors as required• Ensuring the Swim School is a safe environment for students, staff and visitors• Assist maintaining and updating the Swim School website• Maintaining good communication with students, families, Swim School and Aquatic Centre staffThe successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of swim school operations, be digitally competent and be able to work independently, as well as part of a team. Planning and organisation skills are key, as are relationship building and customer service skills.The ability to show initiative, leadership and decision-making skills are an advantage.A current First Aid Certificate is required – training can be provided.For further information please email recruitment@diocesan.school.nz.
