College Sport Auckland’s Girls Football Auckland Provincial Championship (APC) finals were held yesterday at Western Springs Football Club. All three matches were closely fought, with two games going into extra time and the Division 1 final ending in a penalty shootout.
Epsom Girls Grammar School took the APC Junior A title for the third year in a row, beating Mt Albert Grammar School 1-0.

Marist College went in to the APC Division 2 final quietly confident as they were unbeaten throughout the season.
Glendowie College put up a good fight holding Marist to a nil all draw at full time. Marist pulled out all the stops in extra time with Sophie Culpan scoring two goals to claim the APC Division 2 title for the first time ever.
Division 2 MVP: Sophie Culpan from Marist College
The Division 1 (Premier) Final was always going to be an even sided match with Baradene College and Saint Kentigern College having drawn 1-1 when they met half way through the season.
Saint Kentigern took the lead early in the first half with a Lizzie Ellis penalty, Baradene equalising not long after, then gaining the lead 2-1. Saint Kentigern were not done yet and equalised shortly before full time with a goal from Ayla Pratt.
With two goals each at full time, this was the second game of the night to head to extra time. Neither team could find the back of the net again, which saw the game decided on penalties.
Saint Kentigern won 3-2 clinching the APC Division 1 title for the second year in a row.
Division 1 MVP: Petra Buyck, Baradene College
