COVID-19 Updates

Sunday 28 February Update:

Following the government announcement that Auckland moved to Alert Level 3 at 6.00am this morning, all College Sport Auckland competitions are currently on hold until at least Saturday 6 March. Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

At all times, College Sport Auckland will follow the advice and guidance issued by the government.

Effective immediately, all College Sport Auckland staff are now working from home.  They can be contacted by email at school.sport@collegesport.co.nz

 

Monday 22 February Update:

Following the government announcement that Auckland will move to Alert Level 1 at 11:59pm tonight, all College Sport Auckland competitions will resume as normal from Tuesday 23 February.

 

Friday 19 February Update:

Below is an update on College Sport Auckland competitions scheduled for next week.

Monday 21 February

  • Orienteering Southern Zone has been cancelled.
  • Orienteering Western Zone has been postponed.
  • Softball Boys Season will go ahead as scheduled at Alert Level 2.
  • Touch Premier Season will go ahead at Alert Level 2 but girls will play at Saint Kentigern College, boys and mixed teams will play at Dilworth School. Schools have been sent the Alert Level 2 requirements for these venues.

Tuesday 23 February

  • Orienteering Eastern Zone has been cancelled.
  • Swimming Central Eastern Zone will go still ahead if we are stay at Alert Level 2 with limited schools (some schools will be moved to another zone). If we move to Alert Level 1, it will go ahead as normal. Further information will be sent to schools.
  • Touch Zones Season (North Harbour, Eastern, Western) will not go ahead as scheduled if we remain at Alert Level 2, however we are looking at other options to restrict gathering sizes. If we move to Alert Level 1, it will go ahead as normal.
  • Ultimate Season will resume at Alert Level 1 or 2 – draws to be updated.

Wednesday 24 February

  • Archery Ranking Round will go ahead at Alert Level 1 or 2 – refer to the Auckland Archery Club Alert Level 2 Rules on our Archery Information page.
  • Softball Girls Season will begin at Alert Level 1 or 2.
  • Tennis Premier Season will begin with amended draws at Alert Level 1 or 2.
  • Kilikiti Tournament will only go ahead if we move to Alert Level 1. If we remain at Alert Level 2, due to gathering restrictions, we will need to postpone the tournament.
  • Tag Football South Eastern Zone Season will go ahead at Alert Level 1 or 2.

Friday 26 February

  • Yachting Fleet Regatta will only go ahead if we move to Alert Level 1. If we remain at Alert Level 2, due to gathering restrictions, we will need to postpone the regatta.

Saturday 27 February

  • Waka Ama Senior Regatta will only go ahead if we move to Alert Level 1. If we remain at Alert Level 2, due to gathering restrictions, we will need to postpone the regatta.

 

Thursday 18 February Update:

All Water Polo games are still going ahead as scheduled this Friday and Sunday. Due to Alert Level 2 restrictions, there are however regulations for each venue that all players and officials will need to abide by. These have been sent to all water polo schools and are available on our Water Polo Senior Information page.

Premier Touch will go ahead this Monday, however girls teams will play at Saint Kentigern College, boys and mixed teams will play at Dilworth School.

 

Wednesday 17 February Update:

Following the Government’s decision that Auckland will move to Alert Level 2 until 11.59pm on Wednesday 17 February, most College Sport Auckland competitions are able to resume, subject to the health and safety requirements of Alert Level 2 and a maximum gathering size of 100 people.

The government will make the next announcement on the alert level on Monday 22 February.

We understand schools will all have their own health and safety procedures, but for reference, the information from Sport New Zealand regarding sport at Alert Level 2 can be found here.

Below is a summary of the College Sport Auckland competitions over the next few days.

Thursday 18 February

  • All Thursday Volleyball Zone games cancelled due to gathering sizes of more than 100.
  • Orienteering Northern Zone event postponed to the week commencing 22 March.

Friday 19 February

  • Water Polo Premier & Senior games will go ahead unless specific venues indicate restrictions or closure during Level 2, then these games will be rescheduled. Further information will be provided on Thursday 18 February.

Saturday 20 February

  • All Cricket and Tennis will go ahead – please check with your host venue / opponent.

Sunday 21 February

  • Water Polo Premier & Senior games will go ahead unless specific venues indicate restrictions or closure during Level 2, then these games will be rescheduled. Further information will be provided on Thursday 18 February.

Monday 21 February

  • Golf will go ahead.
  • Softball Boys will go ahead.
  • Touch Premier – waiting for confirmation from the venue. Further information will be provided on Thursday 18 February.

 

Monday 15 February Update:

Following the government announcement that Auckland moved to Alert Level 3 at 11:59pm on Sunday 14 February, all College Sport Auckland competitions are currently on hold until at least Thursday 18 February. This is a fluid situation and a further update will be sent on Wednesday 17 February.

At all times, College Sport Auckland will follow the advice and guidance issued by the government.

Effective immediately, all College Sport Auckland staff are now working from home. Sports department staff can still contact us by emailing school.sport@collegesport.co.nz.
