Athletics Changes for 2019

The following changes have been made for the 2019 College Sport Auckland Athletics Zones & Championships:

  1. Schools will be permitted to enter any number of athletes (rather than being restricted to 4 per track and 2 per field event) however, all athletes should have met the entry standards. Please ensure you check your athletes’ results against our entry standards before entering them. In field events, any attempts that are not above (or close to) the entry standard may not be measured.
  2. For individual events (except hurdles), the top two athletes from each zone will automatically qualify for the College Sport Auckland Championships. The remaining eight places will be decided by selection panel through dispensation and next best qualifiers, regardless of their school/zone.
  3. Hurdles have been removed from the North Harbour Zone. If any North Harbour athletes wish to compete in hurdles, their school should contact College Sport Auckland and request to enter another zone. The top athlete from each zone will automatically qualify for the College Sport Auckland Championships. The remaining five places will be decided by selection panel through dispensation and next best qualifiers, regardless of their school/zone.
  4. The 300m Hurdles and 2000m Steeplechase at the College Sport Auckland Championships will be split into junior, intermediate & senior age groups (rather than open age groups).
  5. Schools will be charged a $200 bond before their zone meet which will be refunded if the school fulfils their designated duties at their zone meet and the College Sport Auckland Championships.

Refer to the Entry & Competition Information for all the entry requirements, rules, dates, etc.
